Chen completed his physiotherapy training at University of Otago in New Zealand in 2006. For over 10 years, Chen has been working in private practice treating various musculoskeletal injuries, work or accident related injuries, sports injuries, and managing pre- and post-operative patients. Chen has also worked closely with elite level sports clubs: Rugby union, Rugby League, and Soccer, as well as golf and squash.
To further hone his skills after graduating from university, Chen has completed McKenzie qualifications (lower back, neck, upper and lower limbs), Mulligan techniques (upper and lower quadrant), manipulative manual therapy (spinal and peripherals), western acupuncture, and dry needling. Chen has also completed the Master of Health Practice in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand in 2014. Chen takes pride in thoroughly assessing and diagnosing his patients so that they understand their conditions. Chen has expertise in providing the best evidence based practice which facilitates patients achieving their goals and function as quickly as possible. Chen has also been involved in supervising and teaching undergraduate physiotherapy students for many years.
Chen moved to Melbourne with his family in 2016. Outside of work, Chen loves spending time with his family and exploring the world’s most liveable city (Melbourne) and the rest of Australia. Chen can speak both Mandarin and Cantonese fluently.
