Clinical Pilates is a form of non-impact exercise to enable patients to improve core strength and stability, body alignment and awareness, reduce pain, prevent injury, correct biomechanics and improve flexibility. Pilates is an adjunct to physiotherapy and is commonly used to treat acute and chronic spinal (back and neck), shoulder, hip, knee and ankle injuries, sporting injuries, workplace injuries and post surgical patients to assist your pain free return to your previous level of function. In addition, Pilates is a safe exercise regime for women pre and post pregnancy performed to alleviate back pain, maintain muscle strength and regain muscle control post pregnancy.
Pilates makes use of simple equipment such as foam rollers, elastic banding and fit balls and can be performed one on one in our gym space at First Choice Health.
